Dr. Katie's Story

Meet Dr. Katie Sutton

A Kansas native, Dr. Sutton graduated summa cum laude from Kansas State University with a degree in Biology before earning her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where she graduated near the top of her class. She completed her OB-GYN residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, serving in leadership roles during her senior year.

Dr. Sutton began her career practicing OB-GYN in Wichita, Kansas, where she also served as volunteer faculty for the University of Kansas OB-GYN residency program. She later returned to her hometown of Manhattan, Kansas, and spent nearly five years caring for women in private practice.

It was there that the direction of her career began to change.

More and more patients were coming to her with the same frustrating story: they didn’t feel like themselves, yet they weren’t finding answers. Fatigue, poor sleep, changes in mood, weight, libido, and overall well-being were affecting their lives, even when traditional evaluations didn’t fully explain what they were experiencing.

Dr. Sutton began looking deeper into hormone health and the role that individualized testing, careful monitoring, and personalized treatment could play in helping patients feel better. What began as an area of clinical interest ultimately became a new approach to practicing medicine—one centered on listening closely, looking beyond a single number on a lab report, and treating each patient as an individual.

That philosophy became the foundation for the work she does today.

For Dr. Katie, it’s personal too.

Dr. Sutton’s perspective isn’t shaped by medicine alone.

As a physician, wife, and working mother of two daughters, she understands how easy it is to put your own health somewhere near the bottom of an already-full list.

She experienced that frustration herself. Despite exercising, eating well, taking supplements, and seemingly “doing all the right things,” she wasn’t seeing or feeling the results she expected. When she finally evaluated her own hormone health, what she discovered changed the way she thought about her own body—and ultimately strengthened the way she approached her patients’ care.

After addressing those issues, she noticed meaningful changes in her energy, sleep, mood, ability to manage stress, and response to exercise.

The experience reinforced something she had already begun seeing in her patients:

Feeling better starts with being heard—and understanding what’s actually happening in your body.

Today, Dr. Sutton’s mission is to help patients have the kind of thoughtful, individualized conversation about their health that too many people struggle to find.

Because “everything looks normal” shouldn’t always be the end of the conversation.
